All Natural Cleaning Products…….the herbal way.

So I have recently been doing some research on the quality of air in our homes. Turns out all those chemical cleaners we use are TERRIBLE for the air quality! I would really rather not have my kiddos breathing in that stuff, so I started searching for some alternatives. There are commercial ‘natural’ cleaners out there like Clorox Green Works with ingredients I can’t even pronounce!

Solution = make your own!

The main ingredient in this DIY natural cleaner is vinegar, and after the vinegar drys the smell is completely gone leaving behind the infused smell of citrus or herbs you infused.

STEP 1: Peel oranges, grapefruit, lemons or limes and get the PEEL only. Any juice/pulp will make solution sticky. For herbs, gather the fresh or dried herbs you like.

(I made an orange/cinnamon mixture and a lemon/rosemary/mint mixture) No powdered spices can be used because this will clog your sprayer. (Learned that the hard way!!!)

STEP 2: Fill mason jar with selected peels and or herbs. Fill to top with vinegar. Cover and let sit for a minimum of 2 weeks, but not more than 4 weeks.

STEP 3: Strain your homemade natural cleaner and fill 1 part vinegar solution/1 part water into an empty spray bottle and viola! Ready to clean. If you still are smelling the vinegar smell stronger than you’d like, feel free to add a few drops of essential oil to strengthen the smell. Orange/lemon/mint/rosemary are all great essential oils to add.

This is a great MULTI-PURPOSE cleaner for countertops, tables, appliances, glass and even in the bathroom.
